A one-day tree plantation programme was jointly organised by the Bishnupur Forest Division, Wangoi Police Station, and 33 Assam Rifles, Maibam Post at Ishok Chingphu Ching as part of the Sewa Parv 2025 Nation First @75 Campaign under the theme “Cleanliness & Sustainability for a Better Tomorrow.” The initiative was held under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Bishnupur, Waikhom Romabai.
The event was attended by DFO Bishnupur Waikhom Romabai, Officer-in-Charge of Wangoi Police Station M. Badal, Post Commander of 33 Assam Rifles Maibam, Major Sahil Rishi, Ex-Pradhan of Ishok Gram Panchayat Warepam Deben, RFO of Forest Department HQ T. Meenakshi, RFO of Bishnupur HQ RK Sadananda, RFO of Bishnupur Forest Division M. Nilamani, RFO of Moirang H. Geetchandra and other officials.
Plantation was carried out along the roadside from Terapokpi Kabui Khul to Chingu Pangalba of Chingphu Ching Achouba, where around 1,800 saplings of fruit-bearing trees and flowering plants were planted.
Speaking on the occasion, DFO Waikhom Romabai stressed the importance of tree plantation in combating climate change and preserving ecological balance. She stated that safeguarding the environment today is a shared responsibility to ensure a sustainable future for the coming generations.
