KCP Taibanganba group denies link with four persons arrested by Manipur Police

The KCP Taibanganba Group has denied any association with four persons reportedly arrested by the Manipur Police on March 13, stating that the individuals have no connection with the outfit.
In a press statement issued by its publicity secretary Salaingamba Meitei, the group said media reports claiming that four members of the organisation had been arrested were incorrect and misleading.
The four individuals named in the reports are Khoisnam Roger (29), Khoisnam Byron (23), Sinam Umakanta Singh (43), and R.K. Heramot Singh (45).
According to the police, a sum of Rs. 39 lakh in cash, six mobile phones and one pistol were recovered from the arrested persons. However, the outfit alleged that linking the individuals to the KCP Taibanganba Group was a fabricated claim.
The statement further alleged that such actions by Indian security forces and the state police were attempts to malign the organisation’s name. It also referred to earlier allegations connecting the group with threats issued to contract staff nurses of the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, claiming that these accusations were also aimed at defaming the outfit.
The organisation warned that any individual found involved in activities aimed at tarnishing its name would face action after a decision by its Central Committee. It added that its special team under the “Operation on Eradication of Public Enemy” has been directed to further examine the matter.
The group also stated that a detailed clarification would be issued to the public after conducting a thorough inquiry into the incident.
