A Cyclothon carrying the message “Pedal for the Planet, Protect the Wildlife” was organised today by the Central Forest Division, Imphal, as part of the 71st Wildlife Week Celebration 2025 under the theme “Human-Animal Coexistence.” The event was flagged off by Addl. Chief Secretary (TCI/Transport) and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force, Anurag Bajpai, IFS, from the Central Forest Division Office Complex, Mantripukhri, and concluded at the Manipur Zoological Garden, Iroishemba.
The Cyclothon aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage eco-friendly transport. Participants included senior forest officials — Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Longjam Joykumar, Conservator of Forests (Central Circle) RK Amarjit, DFO Central Forest Division Vikram Nadhe, RFO Central HQ Tipu Raj, RFO Sawombung David Singh Athokpam, and RFO Imphal East M. Jobid Meitei. Cyclists from the Manipur Adventure & Mountain Biking Association (MAAMBAA), Cycling Squad, and the Manipur Royal Humber Cycling Club, Tera, also took part.
