CAU Tura organises Grand Poster Reveal and Media Meet

The College of Community Science, Tura, Meghalaya, under the Central Agricultural University, Imphal, in collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, ICAR, New Delhi, Deendayal Research Institute, New Delhi, and the Government of Meghalaya, organized “Unveiling Vision: The Grand Poster Reveal & Media Meet” for the forthcoming National Conclave on “Weaving India Together: Natural Fibres, Innovation and Livelihoods from the North East and Beyond.”
The event was graced by Dr. Mridula Takhur Pradhan, Chairperson, Vikas Foundation Trust Dr. Rajbir Singh, DDG (Agriculture Extension), ICAR, Atul Jain, Vice Chairman, DRI, New Delhi and Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, Central Agricultural University (Imphal) who highlighted the vital role of innovation, traditional wisdom, and collaboration in advancing rural empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.
Chief Guest Ashutosh Rana, acclaimed actor, writer, and advocate for sustainable living, spoke on sustainability and mindful living, stressing that true progress lies in harmony with nature. He reminded the audience that sustainability is not a new concept but a way of life deeply rooted in India’s traditional practices, where every resource was valued and used responsibly. Urging everyone to blend innovation with intention, he remarked that “innovation must arise from the intention to preserve, not to exploit.” He commended the college and its collaborators for creating a platform that unites science, art, and sustainability through natural fibres, asserting that every thread woven from nature carries a story of people, soil, and culture.
