The Assam Rifles National Integration Tour delegation, comprising 26 Civil Society Organisation representatives from Tengnoupal district and five personnel from Assam Rifles, concluded a significant day of institutional engagement in the national capital with a focused interaction at Army Headquarters with the Chief of the Army Staff.
The meeting served as a high-level platform for the delegation to share insights gathered during the tour and articulate community-driven priorities such as improved connectivity, educational access and healthcare outreach in remote areas of Manipur. The Chief of the Army Staff commended Assam Rifles for its enduring commitment to peace building and civil-military cooperation, and acknowledged the value of such outreach in strengthening national integration and trust between citizens and institutions.
The delegation also experienced Delhi’s modern infrastructure through a ride on the Metro and a visit to Sarojini Nagar Market, gaining practical insights into urban systems and commerce. These curated experiences reinforced the tour’s broader objective of fostering civic awareness and national belonging.
Earlier, on 17 and 18 September, the delegation visited RashtrapatiBhavan for an interaction with the Hon’ble President of India and explored Delhi’s historical and civic landmarks including India Gate, Red Fort, and ChandniChowk. These engagements offered cultural context and exposure to the nation’s democratic and urban frameworks, setting the stage for today’s strategic dialogue.
Flagged off from Pallel on 10 September, the National Integration Tour has traversed Shillong and Kolkata enroute to Delhi, with each leg designed to build perspective, dialogue and unity. Today’s interaction with the Chief of the Army Staff marks a defining moment in the tour’s journey, reaffirming Assam Rifles’ role as a bridge between communities and the nation.
By facilitating direct exchanges between Tengnoupal’s civil society representatives and national leadership, the National Integration Tour reinforces Assam Rifles’ commitment to nurturing trust, widening civic horizons and empowering participants to promote inclusive development and peaceful engagement in their home communities.
