Imphal, Aug 31: Union Home Minister of State for Home, Kiran Rijiju today arrived at imphal and paid fitting tribute to the portrait of freedom fighter Rani Gaidinlui at Tingkao rangkao Temple at Chingmeirong. The Home Minister was earlier scheduled to visit the birth place of Gaidinlui at Nungkao in Tamenglong District by helicopter, however due to bad weather the visit was cancelled and the memorial service of the freedom fighter Rani Gaidinlui was held at Tingkao Rangkao Temple at Chingmeirong, Imphal West.
The Union Minister was received by the President of the BJP Manipur Pradesh, Ksh Bhavananda and other prominent leaders of the BJP at Imphal Airport.
Speaking on the occasion Rijiju lauded the talents of the youth of the state which had contributed at many field to the country particularly in the field of Sports, however decried on the failure to reach the benefit provided by the central government.
“sometime we feel pain when the Manipur state has not able to reach the development project to the poor people taken up by the government of India in the jewel of India and has must potential and talented youth especially in sport”, Rijiju said.
He called on the need for collective work with CSOs, all political party to restore peace in the state.
On the other hand the Minister who hails from Arunachal Pradesh, an NE state said that the believed of the indigenous people of the land are identical however there is slightly difference in conversation and normal practices.
