Imphal, June 14:

Even after the announcement of the revised guideline for covid-19 vaccination programme by the central government (MoHFW) which will come into effect from June 21, to speed up the vaccination drive, the authority of the State Health Society, NHM seems to be not aware of the guidelines as no information about making any plan to speed up the vaccination drive in the state has been made available to public. As per official record a total of 81,577 people in the state have been fully vaccinated (get full dose) when the total population of the state is around 30 lakhs.
As per the revised guideline the Union government will provide the vaccine free of cost to states base on the progress of vaccination. That means the more the people are vaccinated the more the state will get the vaccine.
Even though the state had announced emergency like situation by imposing curfew and restricting gathering including rituals, the State health Society have no proper planning on Sunday for reason best known to some district. As per record on Sunday, the 3rd of June, the state health authority plan just 9 vaccination session in 6 districts of which only 8 sessions were held. A total of just 334 people were vaccinated. The number of people who ot second dose was just 7. That was the day when the Director of the NHM , State Mission issued press statement through spending lots of money appealing 18 years above to get 2nd dose vaccine at the earliest. There was no vaccination conducted at 10 other districts. Perhaps, a break for a day in fighting the war against the virus.
So far the total number of people vaccinated the first dose was 4,67,403 people and the number of people who got 2nd dose (full dose) was 81,577 people. The total doses administered was 5,48,980 as per the report from the department at 6 pm yesterday.
