State observes Lui-Ngai-Ni festival

State observed the Naga seed sowing festival, Lui-Ngai-Ni today at Tribal Research Institute, Chingmeirong, Imphal. The festival was being organised today by the State level Organising Committee Lui-Ngai-Ni 2015 with the theme of ‘sowing the seed of peace and prosperity.’
Dr. Xavier Pamei, General Secretary, Organising Committee, said that Lui-Ngai-Ni, the Naga festival of sowing seed has been celebrating since the year of 1987. The identity and culture of the festival has been recognised by the government of Manipur and also declared a state holiday. He added that the ministry of Tourism, government of Manipur has declared the festival as a part of Tourism festival of the state.
Deputy speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, MK Preshow Shimray, Victor Keishing, MLA Phungyar (ST) and other high official members of the state attended the festival.
