Maoist warns to the commercialization of educational institutes

Maoist Communist Party, Manipur today said that the education policy, which is essential for development of the Manipur has been converted into commercial sector. The trend has greatly affected the nation building process, said a statement signed by Comrade Nonglen Meitei, Secretary Publicity and Propaganda, Maoist Communist Party, Manipur. It said private schools in the state have been introducing various means to make profit from the students. These schools introduce various uniforms and even the school exercise books were sold by them to make profit. The Maoist statement also criticizes the attitude of the government school teachers. It said that the teachers enrolled gosh students to the schools so that they can have more share of Mid Day meal and later the rice of the mid day meal were sold out by them. These teachers who were in reality a guide to the society has now become equivalent with a mere thieve. These activities of the teachers has not only looted the rice mean for the students but also wasted the free books and uniforms distributed under the SSA. As these schools have submitted names of the students who are not actually enrolled in the school huge amount of fund went wasted. It said that various contractors has looted huge amount of money from the fund for construction of schools under SSA and RMSA. The authorities remain blind to these practices being underway in the state of Manipur. The Maoist said that they cannot remain mere spectators to these. It said those concern authority and related individuals are given the last chance for clarification. The Maoist said that they had taken resolution to inspect the condition of the schools both private and government. It appealed the people to support to them in doing so.
