Imphal, April 7: While alleging Congress government for ruining the state, State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Manipur Pradesh has warned that the party would not spare “corrupt Congressmen” who have siphoned off money.
Addressing a gathering at the 36th foundation day of the party at Keibul Lamjao organized by BJP Thanga Mandal, the General Secretary said that people of the state have loath towards the 14-years of Congress misrule in Manipur. A strong antagonistic attitude against the present Ibobi-led Congress government has prevailed among the voters.
BJP, Thang Mandal has started exposing swindling of whooping amount money by congress government in the name of irrigation, drinking water, tourism, road development etc in Thanga assembly constituency in the recent years. “The Congress is the enemy of the people of Thanga especially the fishing community. “ The BJP government at the Center will not spare those corrupt officials and concerned Ministers and legislatures who are involved in such illegal graft practices, Asnikumar warned.
Tourism Ministry, Government of India had already sanctioned Rs 46 for Sendra and Rs 22 cr for Thanga and Karang Island for development of mega tourism projects three years ago. It is reported that Rs 12 cr and 7 cr released and deposited to the work agency for Sendra and Thang respectively.However, there was no sign of tangible work at the spot till date. This is the big question among the people of the areas and the state, whether it has been siphoned off or the where the money has gone. And, the Ministry of DoNER has also sanctioned Rs 2.8 cr approximately for deconstruction of Keibul Lamjao Water Supply scheme 3-4 years back and reportedly Rs 2 cr has already been withdrawn 2 (two) years back for providing drinking water to the people of Keibul Lamjao, but till date the people of Keibul Lamjao never get a drop of water. This is one of the unpardonable crimes against humanism, Asnikumar said.
A high level committee led by Additional Director General of Tourism, Government of India has arrived in the state to inspect the development of tourism and infrastructure in the state including Thang A/C, he informed, while adding that the wrongdoing will be exposed soon with the arrival of the Central team. It is high time to realize the misrule of Congress in the last 14-years in the state of Manipur and sufferings of the people. The fishermen of Loktak are pathetic condition for their survival under Ibobi regime.
He also said that BJP was formed on April 6, 1980 on the objective of nationalism and one nation one constitution. Under the dynamic leadership of Narendra Modi the party has gained support from the people and formed government at the Center.
While the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking initiatives develop the northeastern parts of the country, people of rural and underdeveloped assembly segments like Thanga and Kumbi must elect BJP legislatures in the upcoming 2017 general election, he appealed.
The BJP leader also appealed the party workers to work for the growth of the party at the grass root level and ensure formation of government in 2017.
