Imphal, April 7: Contestants and designers from Manipur State participating in the “Jewel Queen 2016” the Beauty Pageant & Fashion Parade for the entire North East organized at the ongoing 1st Manipur Industrial Expo, 2016 at Lamboikhongnangkong, Imphal West has announced to withdraw themselves from the event alleging the event organizers turned out to be fraud and cheat.
Sailesh Nongmaithem, a designer complained media persons at Manipur Press Club that in contrast to the criteria that Vivek Diwankar (IAS) Commissioner,Commerce and Industries, given to them there were no juries in the competition which has begun from April 4.
In a meeting held on March 10, 2016 at the chamber of the Commissioner at Old Secretariat, the IAS officer gave high hope to the designers that during the event three top designers will be selected by special juries coming from Milan, Italy and the selected ones will have chance to visit Milan.
