Sri Sri Football Coaching Camp Inaugurated at KP College, Hiyangthang

With a vision to nurture young talent and bring hope to displaced communities, the Sri Sri Football Three-Month Coaching Camp was successfully inaugurated at KP College, Hiyangthang, for internally displaced children residing in relief camps.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by distinguished dignitaries. Sweety Devi Ngangbam, Captain of the Indian Women’s Football Team, attended as the Chief Guest. Elangbam Panthoi Chanu, Goalkeeper of the Indian Women’s Team, was present as the Guest of Honour. Dr. K. Romeo Meetei and Dr. W. Nimai Singh graced the function as Guest of Honour and President respectively.
In her address, Chief Guest Sweety Devi emphasized the importance of early professional training in sports. She highlighted that if children receive proper coaching from a young age, India can compete strongly with leading football nations such as Japan and Australia.
Guest of Honour Elangbam Panthoi Chanu expressed her happiness and encouragement upon witnessing the enthusiasm and passion of the young participants. She lauded the initiative for providing a platform for children to grow through sports despite challenging circumstances.
Dr. K. Romeo Meetei delivered an insightful narrative on the vision and objectives of the coaching camp, emphasizing the role of sports in holistic development and emotional healing. He also extended heartfelt gratitude to the Art of Living Foundation, Bengaluru, for sponsoring the coaching camp.
Presiding over the function, Dr. W. Nimai Singh appreciated the initiative and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to supporting youth development and community welfare.
The Sri Sri Football Coaching Camp aims to empower internally displaced children by providing structured training, life skills, and a positive environment to rebuild confidence and aspirations.
