In an effort to provide livelihood opportunities for internally displaced people, Manipur Seva Samiti, in collaboration with Seva Bharati Manipur and Humanism Foundation, organized a skill development and livelihood training session at the relief center located at Mangolnganbi College, Ningthoukhong.
Senior functionary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Manipur Pranta, Laishram Jatra Singh, emphasized the importance of resilience during challenging times. He encouraged them to tap into their inner strength as they navigate through life’s highs and lows.
“Success as an entrepreneur requires determination and confidence. Today’s training focuses on equipping participants with the essential skills to embark on the journey of becoming agri-entrepreneurs with minimal investment,” remarked Laishram Jatra Singh, also an Executive Member of RSS, Manipur Pranta.
Ningombam Chingkhamba, a successful mushroom grower, highlighted mushroom cultivation as a lucrative option for livelihood. He emphasized that regardless of educational background or social status, anyone can succeed in mushroom cultivation with an investment of approximately 2000 rupees.
Hijam Thoiba Singh, CEO of Loushang Farmers Producer Company Limited, attending as a resource person during the training, provided valuable insights into the intricacies of mushroom cultivation and the essential steps to thrive in the field.
The training program was attended by Bishnupur District Functionaries of RSS Manipur Pranta, including Thokchom Ningthem Singh (Zilla Pracharak) and Nameirakpam Somorjit Singh (Zilla Seva Pramukh), along with officials from Loushang Farmers Producer Company Limited, K. Bunbun Singh, Nameirakpam Somorjit Singh, and the Managing Trustee of Humanism Foundation, Dr. Wahengbam Rorrkychand Singh.
