Sit-in-protest staged at different places demanding implementation of ILP

Imphal, July 30: Lamlong Keithel Apunba Nupi Lup (LKANL) staged a sit-in-protest today at Khurai Lamlong Bazar demanding the release of all who were arrested by the police while demanding implementation of ILP system in Manipur.

Speaking to media, General Secretary, LKANL, R.K. Bimola said that people from across the state has been demanding the implementation of ILP system in the state through various forms of agitation but the Chief Minister remains indifferent. Those young students and mothers who were arrested by police for demanding implementation of ILP must be released immediately without any conditions as the agitation is for the benefit for everyone in the state including the Chief Minister, Ibobi and the Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam, said Bimola.

On the other hand Manipur State Council Communist Party of India (MSCCPI) also staged a sit-in-protest today at Irabat Bhavan demanding the same.

Secretary MSCCPI, Sotinkumar said to media person that there is a real threat to the continuity of indigenous people of the state. However during the 13th Lok Sabha Election no other political parties’ manifesto mentioned about implementation of ILP system in the state except for CPI, said Sotinkumar. He further added the political party will take part in any agitations in support of the implementation of ILP system in the state.
