Anti drug campaign at Yainganpokpi; pull up addict, recovers drugs

Imphal, July 30: Women folk of Yangangpokpi caught a person along with ten piece of drugs (No. 4) on Monday evening from Yaingangpokpi bazaar.

The person has been identified as Muivah Horam (37) son of late Piter of New Canan. He has been handed to the police  and the seized drug were burned at Yaingangpokpi Bazaar yesterday.

The anti drug drive was conducted by women folks of various communities along with the police.

Heisia leaders of Tangkhul women folk of New Canan said that the anti drug campaign was conducted to safe the area from the clutch of drug users. She said that legal action remain pending most of the time as the existing police station at Yangangpokpi is not a fully fledged one besides lack of adequate women police.
