Manipur State Medicinal Plants Board (MSMPB), Directorate of AYUSH  in associated with Volunteers for Scientific Action on Rural Development (VOSARD),Lamding  organized a One Day State Level Seminar on Medicinal & Aromatic Plants of Manipur at the Conference Hall of Lamding High School in Thoubal District today.
The State Level Seminar on Medicinal & Aromatic Plants of Manipur was Sponsored by National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPB),New Delhi, Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. of India.
L.Manao Singh, Retired Member, Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC), Manipur, Rk. Tilotama Devi, Additional Director, Directorate of AYUSH, Lamphelpat and Dr. L. Promila Devi, Joint Director (AYUSH)/Member Secretary, Manipur State Medicinal Plants Board (MSMPB), Directorate of
AYUSH, Lamphelpat graced the Inaugural function as chief guest and guests of honours respectively. Dr. K. Lokendro Singh, Director of AYUSH, Government of Manipur as the functional president.
Resource Persons of the program, Dr. P. Kumar Singh, Prof. Life Science Dept., Manipur University, Dr. P. Kalanjoy Singh, Proprietor, Sida Hidak Herbal Medicine Manufacturing-cum- Health care, Phumlou Siphai, Dr. O. Kumar Singh, M.Sc Horticulture Junior Subject matter specialist
Dept. of Hort. & Soil Conservation, Bishnupur deliberated on the “Saving Indigenous Endemic Medicinal plants of Manipur, Cataloging in data base and awareness campaign for their conservation”, “Pharmacological Studies of Rare & Endangered MAPs found in North-East
States”, “Role of Medicinal Plants in the Modern Health Care System”. While Dr. L. Promila Devi, Joint Director/Member Secretary, Manipur State Medicinal Plants Board (MSMPB) stressed on the topic of “Important role of Farmers for Collection and Storage of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants”.
During the program, an open discussion was also held on the topic “Medicinal & Aromatic Plants of Manipur” under the moderator of Dr. K. Lokendro Singh, Director of AYUSH, Government of Manipur. AYUSH & Homeo Doctors, College Teachers and ASHA’s from different Districts of the State also attended the programme.
