SDSA draws government attention over pathetic road condition

Imphal, Oct. 5: The Senapati Districts’ Association (SDSA) an apex students body in the District has expressed discontentment and drawn the attention of the state Govt. to pitiable condition of the vital NH-2 which is also called the Life line artery of Manipur.
The apex students organisation, taking serious note of the deplorable and pathetic condition of NH-2 which is being the key supply route of essential goods of daily use and transit for commuters becomes an imperil even for the trucks to travel along the so-called motorable road. It is stated that even as travellers, truckers and businessmen have to bear the bump and grind of traveling across AH-2. The Pathetic conditions of the road is not confined to certain stretch alone but the knee deep potholes of unimaginable dimension either sides of the road at various spots being the hallmark of the road upto Imphal.
Expressing resentment on the road condition of Imphal-Dimapur road on Manipur has chronically remained deplorable in stark contrast to the sleek image of the same at Imphal-Dimapur road, the students body has strongly urged the state government to upgrade and properly maintain the Asian Highway-2, it also ask the concerned department/work agency and contractors to immediately look into the matter so that the highway renovation work is accelerated at the earliest.
