RNSOM calls for early completion of Tamenglong-Mahur Road Project

Imphal, Sept 25:

The Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation Manipur (RNSOM) has issued an appeal to all sections of society to cooperate in the timely completion of the Tamenglong-Mahur road project, a long-cherished aspiration of the people of Tamenglong.
In a statement, RNSOM expressed concern over reports that certain individuals are disrupting the ongoing construction of the Tamenglong-Mahur road under the guise of seeking fair land compensation. The organization emphasized that the project, which aims to connect the remotest parts of Tamenglong district, is vital for fostering equal development in the region, bringing it on par with the rest of the state and the nation.
RNSOM condemned the actions of those attempting to delay the project, labeling it irrational and detrimental to the decade-long developmental dreams of the district. The statement warned that further obstruction would not be tolerated, stressing that the road project must continue without interference from landowners or any other parties.
While urging the state and central governments to address the legitimate demands of affected landowners for fair compensation promptly, RNSOM extended its gratitude to Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Water Resource Minister Awangbow Newmai, former Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong Armstrong Pame, and others who have devoted their time and energy to the project.
The organization also called on the people of Tamenglong, civil organizations, village chairmen associations, and landowners to cooperate fully with the state government, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL), and the Union Government for the swift completion of the national highway.
