Imphal, Sept 25:

The BJP Manipur Pradesh today solemnly observed the 108th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, one of the most influential figures in the BJP’s ideological framework, at Thambal Sanglen, the party’s state headquarters in Imphal. The event witnessed the presence of several key Karyakartas and office bearers of the party, who gathered to pay their respects to the late leader.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, who led the commemorative ceremony, along with BJP Manipur Pradesh President A. Sharda Devi, Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, Social Welfare Minister H. Dingo, BJP Manipur Vice President Nimbus and state general secretary K. Sharatkumar and other senior leaders, offered floral tributes to the portrait of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. In his speech, the Chief Minister emphasized the significance of Upadhyaya’s philosophy of Integral Humanism, which he said continues to serve as the guiding principle for the party in addressing socio-economic challenges and fostering holistic development in the country.
Addressing the gathering, CM Biren Singh highlighted how Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s vision for the country remains relevant in today’s context, particularly his emphasis on the upliftment of the poor and marginalized sections of society through self-reliance. “His vision of a self-sufficient, inclusive India is something we strive to achieve, especially in states like Manipur, where inclusive development is crucial for long-term peace and progress,” said the Chief Minister.
In a message posted on ‘X,’ CM Biren Singh wrote, “Paid my homage to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya ji on the observation of his 108th birth anniversary at BJP office, Imphal. His profound philosophy of Integral Humanism continues to inspire and guide us in our journey towards creating an inclusive, prosperous, and self-reliant nation. On this occasion, I urge everyone to work together in the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, ensuring that the fruits of progress reach every corner of our state.”
State BJP President A. Sharda Devi also spoke at the event, calling upon party members to follow Pandit Upadhyaya’s teachings and principles to guide their work, particularly in times of challenges like the ongoing crisis in Manipur. “As we celebrate his legacy, we must remember that the essence of Panditji’s teachings lies in service to the people. We should focus on strengthening our grassroots efforts to ensure that development and peace reach every household in the state,” she remarked.
The event also included a discussion session where senior leaders of the BJP Manipur Pradesh reflected on the achievements of the party in line with Upadhyaya’s ideals, especially focusing on the central government’s various welfare schemes that aim at benefiting the most vulnerable sections of society.
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, an RSS pracharak and key architect of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (the precursor to the BJP), was known for his vision of Integral Humanism, which advocates the development of all sections of society while upholding the nation’s cultural ethos. His contributions continue to be celebrated within the BJP as an enduring guide to policymaking and governance.
