Students, teachers, non-teaching staffs of St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School along with the local women folk (Meira Paibi) of Sangaiprou today staged a protest demonstration against various threat to the school by outlawed organization PWG.
The protest demanded withdrawal of the threat to the school as it would only bring disaster to the academic well being of the students of the school. Local Meira Paibi, who also showed solidarity to the school, appealed any UGs to stop using violence means at the school as it could amount fear psychosis not only to the school students but also to people living around the school.
Meanwhile, Rev. Father Victor Arul, Principal of St. Joseph School, Imphal in a clarification appealed people to stop character assassination of him with fabricated stories.
In the statement Victor said that all the allegations leveled against him are false and fabricated story to assassinate his character. He said he is ready to resign if any of the allegations were proved with proper evidences.
In the clarification, Victor stated that there is no post called caretaker in the school and there are no lady teachers involve in any immoral activities with him. If there are rumours, Victor appealed to provide evidences and said that if any such can be produced he is ready to resign.
Regarding the allegation of taking intoxicant the father said that if any of his school teachers or students found him and can prove it, he is ready to resign.
He also clarified that he neither have any connection with the army nor with the police to cover up his mistakes.
He also stated that he have not indulged in any admission as Director CESM (Catholic Education Society Manipur) . The director has no authority to command other schools in matter of admission, internal administration and finance . He challenges saying that if any related headmistress/headmasters of schools can provide evidences, he will accept the allegation.
Victor had long back resigned the post of CESM.
