The Public Relations Officer (PRO) and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence for Manipur, Nagaland, and Southern Arunachal Pradesh has issued a strong clarification regarding a false report circulating online. An article titled “37 Indian Soldiers Killed By Naga Separatists”, published on the website europe404.com on May 9, 2025, has been categorically rejected as “totally false, baseless, and posted with malicious intent.”
In an official statement, the PRO condemned the dissemination of such fabricated news, particularly during a sensitive security situation in the region. The spokesperson stressed that the misleading content appears aimed at disturbing public peace and creating unnecessary panic.
The Ministry urged media houses and the general public to exercise caution and verify all information through authorised government sources before publishing or sharing such sensitive content. The statement also appealed to responsible journalism and cooperation in maintaining national security and public trust.
