Polling parties for all the booths for the by-elections in 30-Lilong and 34-Wangjing Tentha Assembly Constituencies in Thoubal district scheduled to be held on 7th November (Saturday) have been dispersed from Mini Secretariat Complex, Thoubal today.
Altogether 833 polling parties including police personnel were dispersed to 30-Lilong and 731 polling parties to 34-Wangjing Tentha early today to avoid the crowd congestion in the dispersal centre in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.
60 polling personnel for Lilong and 51 polling personnel for Wangjing Tentha have been kept in reserve to attend any emergencies.
It may be mentioned that there are 32,398 voters (15,877 males, 16,518 females) and 49 polling stations in 30-Lilong AC. Wangjing Tentha AC has 31,213 voters (15,053 males, 16,160 females) and 43 polling stations out of which two polling stations 34/4 and 34/5 are sensitive. 34/14 and 34/15 polling stations will be manned by woman polling personnel only.
