Perpetrators will not be spared: O Ibobi

Chief Minister O Ibobi strongly condemned the unfortunate ambush on the state security personnel killing one and injuring two, and reiterated the resolve of the state government to identify and punish those responsible for the incident. Speaking to media persons while making inspections on the conditions of the injured security personnel Khumukcham Amuthoi and Kapmilian Mangson at JNIMS and RIMS hospitals, O Ibobi further refuted the reports that all the security personnel have been withdrawn from Ukhrul, stating that some personnel have been redeployed along the national highway to secure the safe transportation of essential commodities in view of the ongoing economic blockade called by the UNC along the National Highways in “Naga Dominated” areas of Manipur as the law and order situation has improved considerably in Ukhrul. Deputy CM Gaikhangam, Health Minister Phungjathang Tonsing, DGP Saheed Ahmed and other top officials also accompanied the Chief Minister during the inspection visits.
