The state security personnel who was killed in a twin ambush yesterday by suspected NSCN (IM) was given a gun salute and wreaths were laid in a mark of respect by the state Government at a condolence function held inside the 1st MR campus today. KS Thotyo of Ukhrul, a state security personnel was killed and two others were injured at the twin ambush at Hundung near the cement factory and another at Mahadev along the Imphal-Ukhrul road. The injured personnel are undergoing medical treatment at JNIMS and RIMS Hospitals at present. Various heads of state including the Chief Minister O Ibobi and Deputy CM Gaikhangam who is also in charge of Home along with officers of the state security force paid homage to the departed soul, with the Chief Minister expressing the intention of the state government to find out the culprits and bring them to book while condemning the unfortunate incident. Also present at the condolence ceremony were officers of the state police department, family and friends of the deceased.
