Imphal, Sept 13:
Maheshwar Thounaojam, National Secretary and Manipur In-charge of the Republican Party of India (RPI Athawale), has expressed criticism toward both the ruling party and the opposition for their inability to address the ongoing crisis in Manipur effectively. In a video statement, Maheshwar Thounaojam highlighted the worsening situation in the state and the lack of concrete actions from the government.
Maheshwar Thounaojam pointed out that over the past year, Kuki militants have intensified violence through drone bombings and rocket attacks, but the state government remains unable to take meaningful steps. He questioned why no action has been taken against the Kuki ministers in the government, despite their alleged role in stalling progress. “Why is the government silent and not acting against these ministers?” he asked.
He further criticized the opposition for their continuous attacks on the ruling party, stating that such criticism is unhelpful at this point. “Now is not the time for political blame games,” Thounaojam Maheshwar remarked, emphasizing that the focus should be on resolving the crisis rather than gaining political mileage. According to him, both the ruling and opposition parties are more concerned with electoral gains than with taking decisive action to restore peace and order in the state.
