While extending support to the Reconsolidation Campaign for Implementation of ILPS in Manipur, around 100 nursing students of JNIMS have staged sit-in-protest demonstration in front of Keishampat head office of Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur today.
Speaking to Imphal Times, one of the protestor said that protection of indigenous people from the explosion of non-Manipuris is a serious threat to the people of Manipur. The state government should ensure early implementation of a permit system for the protection of indigenous people in the state.
In connection with the ongoing demand for ILPS, shopkeepers of Kangjabi Machin, Chongkham Leirak, Soram Leirak and RIMS road have jointly staged a sit-in-protest demonstration.
They also observed 2-minute-silence condolence in respect of the departed soul of Sapam Robinhood. The protestors also raised various slogans like We Want ILPS, Punish Policemen who killed Robinhood.
Speakers from Thangmeiband United Club and JCILPS also addressed the protestors on the ILPS issue.
