NPP Manipur condemns Tronglaobi Blast

The Manipur State Unit of the National People’s Party (NPP) has strongly condemned the bomb attack at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai that claimed the lives of two toddlers and left their mother critically injured.
In a statement, Senior Vice President Dr. Ph. Jillasana described the incident as inhuman, stating that attacks targeting civilians inside their homes are unacceptable and deserve the strongest condemnation.
The party also expressed concern over the reported firing by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel at Tronglaobi, which allegedly resulted in further civilian casualties and injuries. It termed the use of excessive force against unarmed civilians as disturbing and appealed to both Central and State agencies to exercise maximum restraint while handling the sensitive situation in the state.
The NPP Manipur unit further condemned the reported firing on April 6 towards Sinakeithel village in Ukhrul district, stating that the incident created panic and posed serious threats to civilian safety. It described such attacks on villages as unacceptable and called for immediate measures to prevent recurrence.
Demanding accountability, the party called for prompt identification of those responsible for the Tronglaobi blast and sought strict legal action along with a fair and time-bound investigation.
The NPP expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and all affected civilians, and affirmed its commitment to ensuring justice, peace and protection of innocent lives in Manipur.
