ST Nunglung Victor, the Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) MLA, who had submitted resignation to the Manipur legislative Assembly today said that even though the NPF MLAs are elected representatives of the people, they are being, treated as armed cadres of the NSCN. This was stated during a one day political conference of the party held today at the Indoor Stadium at Chandel District head quarter.
Nunglung Victor further said that no Nagas had ever discussed about distorting the territorial integrity of Manipur but it is among the Meitei themselves that are trying to disintegrate Manipur.
President of the NPF State Unit Awangbou Newmai while speaking on the occasion said that the NPF want change in Hill districts by developing and delivering justice to the people. “Offices at district head quarter and sub divisional head quarter are seen attended by only few grade 4 staffs”, Newmai blamed the government saying that the officers and other competent authority had stop attending offices. He added that as the grievances of the people of the Hill people are not heard the people are forced to impose bandh or blockade.
ADC Chandel, Ksm. Mathew while speaking on the occasion said that the NPF is a political platform to support any move for unification of the Nagas.
Former BJP member TS Beton who had recently joined the NPF and become the state unit vice president of the party said that he left BJP as the aspiration he once had with the BJP turn meaningless as the party had not listen to his plea for taking up developmental works of Chandel district.
The one day political conference was also attended by NPF MLA L. Dikho who had submitted resignation to the Manipur legislative Assembly.
