Keirao Assembly Constituency MLA Lourembam Rameshwor Meetei has said that every locality should have a community hall to facilitate public gatherings and social functions.
He made the remarks while inaugurating a newly constructed community hall at Keirao Khunou under Keirao Assembly Constituency in Imphal East district on Wednesday.
Speaking at the function, the MLA said the absence of a proper venue has often created difficulties for residents in organising meetings, community programmes and other social events. He noted that a community hall would serve as a common space for public meetings, discussions and various welfare activities.
Rameshwor Meetei recalled that the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent periods of unrest and President’s Rule had affected developmental activities in the state. Despite these challenges, he said efforts are being made to resume and complete pending development projects.
The MLA also assured the public that road connectivity in the area would be improved and that blacktopping of roads in Keirao would be taken up. He further announced that a separate store room would be constructed for the newly inaugurated community hall to facilitate the safe storage of equipment and other materials.
