No fund left for PMEGP beneficiaries as KVIC fails to submit UC

In yet another blow to the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), KVIC is left with no fund for depositing to the bank as subsidy amount of beneficiaries. According to an official source, the KVIC Imphal has written to the banks stating that there is no balance fund available to deposit the amount of subsidy for the PMEGP beneficiaries selected by the state government authority. Source from the KVIC said that the Central office of the CKVI Mumbai has not released further fund as they had failed to submit utilization certificate (UC) on time to the central office. The PMEGP is a central government programme to promote income generation to unemployed youth of the country.
Meanwhile, KVIC, Imphal has has selected Lamjing Meira Micro Finance, Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai, Imphal West as the agency for verification of PMEGP beneficiaries. State level PMEGP beneficiaries selection committee had selected the private body as 100% physical verification for PMEGP beneficiaries finance by banks is mandatory. However, an official source of the KVIC said that SBI branches of Porompat, Secretriat and Bishnupur had not cooperated with the selected agency while verifying the beneficiaries. The KVIC has directed the banks to cooperate with the agency, the source added.
