As a part of National Sanitation Campaign under Swachh Bharat Mission, District Water and Sanitation Committee, Chandel District organised an Awareness Campaign on Inter Personal Communication (IPC) Community participation on Safe Sanitation, Safe Drinking water and water borne diseases, its preventive measures at Tengnoupal Sub-Divisional Headquarters in Chandel District yesterday.S. Tongpao Mate, Executive Member (CAF & PD, Art and Culture) ADC Chandel; H. Vahjaneng Mate, Social Worker and M. Umakanta Singh, Executive Engineer of Chandel PHE Division graced the inaugural session of the campaign as the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Functional President respectively.During the program, Resource Person S. Khogendro Sharma, S. O. Chandel PHE Division deliberated on the topic of Community participation on safe sanitation and safe drinking water.While highlighting the importance of maintaining personal cleanliness besides keeping our environment clean, S. Tongpao Mate said that cleanliness is indispensable for our healthy living. As such, every one of should take the responsibility of improving sanitary system in every households and villages besides maintaining personal hygiene.However, he further said that, sanitation campaign should not be implies to our outward physical cleanliness only rather it should also implies to one’s heart and mind too. Without a clean mind and heart of an individual, our society cannot be healthy, prosper and develop. So, it is equally important to maintain cleanliness both outward and inward of every individuals in order to live healthily in a healthy and developed society, said the Executive Member.L. Ibungomacha Singh, Assitant Engineer -III Chandel PHE Division, Paris Maring, S.O. Chandel PHE Division, village chiefs, ASHA’s, Anganwadi workers of Tengnoupal Sub-Division also attended the program.
