The National Reconsolidation Month, organized by the United People’s Front (UPF), Manipur, which began on December 22nd, concluded yesterday with a significant event at Ningshing Khun in Jiribam. The event served as a collective call to action, focused on strengthening unity and resolve among the people.
UPF President Nongthombam Rupachandra emphasized that the observance of National Reconsolidation Month was intended to reaffirm the bonds of the Meitei community and promote solidarity. The month-long event culminated in a call for unity, with a gathering at Ningshing Khun, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to collective action and support for the cause.
The official conclusion of the National Reconsolidation Month will be observed on January 9, 2025, in Assam, marking the continuation of the movement. The UPF has been actively addressing ongoing tensions, including conflicts in Assam, and has highlighted the challenges faced by the Meitei community. As part of this effort, the UPF has also recognized the contributions of individuals like Meidingu Gambhir Singh and Nara Singh, who have been working toward advancing the movement’s goals.
Through this initiative, the UPF is advocating for greater solidarity and political recognition for the Meitei community in both Manipur and Assam. The organization is promoting unity and working toward fostering peace in the region. Additionally, UPF advisors Khomdram Ratan and Laishangbam Jadumani have played a significant role in supporting the cause.
