Naga Women visit Machi Village

With an objective to oversee the condition of the villagers following the report of recent attacking 20 Assam Rifles post at Machi, a team of media persons and Naga Women Union, Chandel (NWUC) led by its President visited Machi Village in Chandel District yesterday.
The team of Naga Women Union Chandel was accompanied by Dominic shongshir, President Moyon Tribe besides Ng. Thomani Vice- President of NWUC and Ps. Sona, Information Secretary,  NWUC among others.
After visiting and interacting with the Assam Rifles post at Machi Village, the visiting team were informed that there is no such incident of attacking the Assam Rifles post of Machi on the fateful night of 14 January last as published in some local dailies.However, on the fateful day there was an incident at Machi Lamkhai along Tengnoupal-Shangshak road in between Simang village and Samukom Village where a particular militant cadres attacked and injured some Assam Rifles personnels after triggering IEDs.
