Demanding to allow expelled students to re-take examination, enraged mob vandalize vehicles of Council’s flying scout team today.
The incident happened when an inspection team comprising DC, Thoubal, Council Chairman, K Athar; Council Secretary, Sarangajit Khundrakpam; Under Secretary expelled 3 (three) students from Lilong Higher Secondary Madrasa for indulging malpractices during the ongoing HSSLC examination.
Out of the expelled students, a student is substitute. A total number of 380 students are taking the HSSLC examination at the centre.
In protest, local people agitated outside the school demanding students to give a chance and allow them to write the examination.
After finishing exam at around 12.15 the mob ransacked and attacked vehicles of the officials parked inside the college campus.
Stating the incident as “unfortunate”, Convenor of Joint Students Co-ordination Committee (JSCC), Thangjam Premanda said that such an incident happened regularly in this college.
He also demanded the authority of Council to cancel the examination centre of this college to avoid such untoward incidents in future.
He also informed that a team of JSCC who visited the Waikhom Mani, Thoubal has been sent out by the college official despite of showing authorization letters from Council to inspect examination centre.
Exam postpone for 15 mins
Examination at YK College, Wangjing has been delayed for 15 minutes following a short scuffle between students and staffs of the college regarding change of room without information.
Speaking to media, S Birahari, OC of the exam centre said that the rooms have been changed in order to conduct the examination in a free and fair manner without any malpractices from the side of the students and their parents.
