Manipur University Students’ Union Revival Demand Committee had submitted memorandum to its Vice Chancellor urging immediate announcement of election notification for the student body. The committee also demanded the Manipur University authority to detail the break up figure for admission of SC/ST/OBC and UR mentioned in the official letter no. MU/ 6/14/2008/Admn.l, dated 23rd July 2014, in Annexure III, addressed to the Secretary to the Governor of Manipur by Registrar MU. The committee also urged to clarify on whether the information given in the said letter were true to facts at that point of time.The committee further said that they would not accept the result of the ongoing entrance teast for MA/MSc/MLISc/MCA/ M.Com/BEd, if the demands are not fulfil by September 25.Around 3,500 students are presently studying at various department and centers of Manipur University. On 29 April, 2014 President of India and Visitor of Manipur University had declared for restoration of the Manipur University Students’ Union in its 14th Convocation ceremony.
