Showing apprehension to the rise of outsiders and the threats to the indigenous population of the state, President of the Iramdam Kanba Apunba Lup (IKAL), W. Luwangleima today said that if the people of the state do not work together the original people of the state may become minority in their own state. During a function called “Eegi Khongul Leeba” (tracing our bloodline) held at the Community Hall at Jiribam Sorok Atingbi, Luwangleima further said that number of indigenous people has been decreasing day by day whereas numbers of outsiders are on the rise. She appealed to unit all people of the state to stop the influx of outsiders in the state.
The function was graced by Mutum Bina Devi, Pradhan Hilghat G.P. Ima Koibi Leima, President IKAL, Ima Sushila, President AJMP, Ima Mema, President JIMPAL, Ima Nivarani, President WACAK, Ima Jini President JIMWAK and Ima Thoibi President WWOK as presidium members.
