The proposed meeting between the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS), and the Chief Minister of Manipur is likely to be hampered once again as police today raided the office of JCILP located at Nongmeibung and arrested 11 activists including its student wing convenor Angamba.According to report police arrested the JCILP activist after a person identified as Yengkhom Davision made complaints for assault to him.The report said that Yengkhom Davison was summoned to the office of JCILP today for allegedly interfering to a drive conducted by the activist of JCILP on Saturday. And accordingly he came to the office today afternoon however, the volunteers present in the office allegedly assaulted him without giving any reason.Earlier the member of the JCLIP was prepared to meet the Chief Minister at around 2 pm tomorrow at the Chief Minister’s Bungalow.Earlier on September 4 the JCILP had turn down the government invitation to talk over the matter as one of the co-convenor P Arjun, who was arrested in connection with the movement was not released. As convenor P Arjun was released on September 6, the JCILP had accepted to meet the CM. State government taking into account the momentum of the public demand for introduction of the Inner Line Permit System in the state has formed a government committee headed by MLA RK Anand to look into the matter. The committee had taken views of the advocates and intellectual circle about the enactment of a law. JCILP was also invited to present their views regarding the framing of a legislation.
