MCPCR to open free tele-counselling to support psychological first-aid to children in need

Manipur Commission for Protection Of Child Right Chairperson Manibabu Phurailatpam in a press release stated that the children have unique vulnerabilities owing to specific needs and demands at different stages of growth till the time they reach adulthood.
“COVID-19 pandemic has affected children in a variety of ways. Some children might not be very concerned, whereas others develop unpleasant feelings and behavior. Children may experience a range of psychological Issues such as anxiety, fear, worry, depression, difficulty sleeping and loss of appetite. Children with physical and mental disabilities are more vulnerable during this trying time it added”, the newly elected chairperson of the MCPCR said.
He further stated that the national Commission for Protection of Child Rights with India Co-Win Action Network (I-CAN) has created a network of qualified and trained Counsellor/Psychologists/Experts for providing psychological first-aid and emotional support through its toll free tele-counselling (1800-121-2830)(from Monday to Saturday 10:00 am -1:00 pm and 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm) to children who are affected during COVID-19 pandemic it added the statement.
