Imphal, July 21:

Six student organizations – Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF), Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA), Students’ Union of Kangleipak (SUK), Apunba Ireipak-ki Maheiroi Singpang Lup (AIMS), and another organization – have reported that the marks for candidates who have appeared for the Botany and Physics departments in Dhanamanjuri University are missing from the registrar’s custody. They have demanded the formation of an inquiry committee to investigate the disappearance of these marks.
Hijam Rosham, President of the MSF has stated recent recruitment for both teaching and non-teaching positions has been completed and it is appreciated.
He has highlighted that the university had announced the selection of four assistant professors for each of its 22 departments, with the notification issued in December 2020. Results for 83 posts were subsequently announced. However, controversy arose, leading the university syndicate to reconvene and confirm the validity of the results recently.
“When the new results came out, the results of Physics and Botany have not been announced as the tabulated marks for the Physics and Botany departments have gone missing, leaving the records blank,” he added.
He further stated that these records should be under the custody of the university registrar, Nivedita Lairenlakpam. He has emphasized the need for an investigation into the disappearance of these records and called for the establishment of an inquiry committee to address the issue before any new interviews are scheduled, insisting that the inquiry should precede further recruitment processes.
The student organizations have also demanded that the registrar come forward and provide clarification on this matter.
