In a swift response to a distress call, the Jiribam District Police successfully rescued a 64-year-old woman from the Vaiphei tribe ( kuki clans) and an Auto driver from Jirighat, Assam on Sunday at around 12:10 PM.
The operation took place in I.B. Leikai, Ward No. 7, following information received from local Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and the Meira Paibi.
The woman, identified as Hoinu, was promptly located and returned safely to her family. Superintendent of Police Kh. Robinson expressed gratitude to the CSOs and Meira Paibi for their cooperation, which played a crucial role in maintaining peace and tranquility in the district amid the ongoing inter- community tensions in the region.
Superintendent of Police Robinson also urged community members to continue fostering a spirit of peace and cooperation in Jiribam.
Hoinu’s family has extended their heartfelt thanks to Jiribam District Police for their dedicated efforts in rescuing their mother.
