Imphal, July 25:

Governor Anusuiya Uikey of Manipur welcomed a delegation of family members seeking her assistance in the urgent search for two missing minors from Takyel Kolom Leikai and Tera Tongbam Leikai. The meeting took place at the official residence, Raj Bhavan, on Monday evening.
The minors, identified as Phijam Hemanjit and Luwangbi Linthoingambi Hijam, have reportedly disappeared amidst a backdrop of the increasing violence between Kuki and Meitei communities in the state.
Governor Uikey expressed profound anguish over the incident, assuring the distressed parents that she would marshal all available resources to help locate the missing children. In a comforting gesture, she also voiced optimism that the children were safe and extended her personal prayers for their well-being.
The parents were not alone in their visit to the Governor; they were accompanied by AK Mirabai Devi, the former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Patsoi Assembly Constituency.
In an earlier meeting, Dr. Anupam Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of the Central Agricultural University, briefed the Governor on the challenges facing students affected by the ongoing ethnic clash and discussed the university’s operational strategies amidst the complex law and order situation in Manipur. Governor Uikey reassured him of robust measures in place to protect educational institutions and ensure uninterrupted academic activities.
Further, a group of teachers from Kendra Vidyalaya, Akhampat, Imphal East, led by Dr. Hariom, met with Governor Uikey to discuss their work conditions and the difficulties experienced by teachers stationed outside Manipur. The Governor committed to offering them the necessary assistance, reflecting her proactive approach to the current challenges.
