KSA observes 13th Foundation day: Speaker Y. Khemchand highlighted the important of passing Meitei Mayek Bill

Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Yumnam Khemchand today called upon the students of the state particularly the volunteers of the Kangleipak Student’s Association (KSA) to play vital role in moving Manipur towards development.
Speaking as the Chief Guest of the on the 13th Foundation Day observance of the KSA at Thangmeiband Khuyathong Tombisana High School ground, Khemchand said that youths, who are students of today are the pillar of the society. He calls on the students to maintain discipline as discipline will make the state move forward.
“ We all know that Bangali script has been almost substituted by the Meitei Mayek as students doing 4th semester did not know Bangali script as it was replace by the Meitei Mayek”, Khemchand said and added that as students of the near future will write exam or competitive exam in Meitei Mayek after completing their degree , its time that our state passed a bill of the Meitei Mayek.
“ Students’ body like KSA should remind the matter and should urged the government for passing of a Meitei Mayek Bill as it is the need of the hour.
Khemchand also reminded the role being taken by students at any issue which hurt the sentiment of the people of the state.
Former president of the United Committee Manipur (UCM) Elangbam Johnson who also attended the foundation day function as guest of honour said that criticizing students participation to public agitation are the talk of only fools and pseudo intellects who wanted to crumble the state.
“ When the transport fare rise, when the food grain price sky rocketed, how could the students remain quite as it would affect the family and ultimately to their studies”, Johnson said.
He however appealed the students’ body not to indulge in petty matter which seem like favouring an individual.
Vice President of the KSA S. Bidyananda, while speaking on the occasion recalled on the need for checking whether the schemes and programmes being sanctioned by the government are implementing properly or not.
He said the KSA focus more on academic activities, sports to make a healthy society, to protect the identity of each ethnic community of the state.
The foundation day observance was also attended by L. Mahendra, Chairman Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur, K. Sonamani , Head Master Thangmeiband Khuyathong Tombisana High school as dignitaries on the dais.
As a part of the 13th Anniversary a blood donation camp was also organised by the KSA in collaboration with government authority.
Media persons were also honoured.
