KIMACS celebrates 4th Thang-Ta festival

As a continuation to the 4th Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts (KIMACS) festival of Thang-Ta, an academic discussion on the topic of ‘importance of Thang-Ta to the students of Manipur’ was organised today at Lamyanba Shanglen, Palace Compound, Imphal.
Speaking on the sideline of the program, President, KIMACS, M Surjaboro Meitei said that it has become important for the students of the state to make aware of the importance of the art form of Thang-Ta. He said that the art form is an exercise which is good for health; it can eradicate drug users from the state and also a good form of self defence. He further said that students should know the history of Thang-Ta and it is important for the students to know its value.
As a part of the festival a Thang-Ta competition was organised yesterday amongst the students of various schools. The winners of the competition are declared today. Alpha BCI Memorial Academy Hijam Dewan Leikai, Sanatombi Oriental English school, Kumbi and Standard Robert Higher Secondary School, Canchipur received first, second and third.
