JNIMS paralyses; teachers likely to tender mass resignation

Teachers’ association of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science (JNIMS) along with paramedics and nurses had intensified the ongoing agitation demanding the replacement of the present director-in-charge. The teaching community of the Institute is likely to tender mass resignation if the Chief Minister fails to take immediate action as according to the demands put up by the Teachers’ association.
Speaking to reporters, spokesperson of Teachers’ Association JNIMS, Professor Jitendra said that a meeting held today at the room of the Medical Superintendent of JNIMS today reaffirm its decision to intensify the ongoing agitation. He said the meeting which begins from 11 am today morning lasted till 1 pm and discussed on the pros and cons of the ongoing agitation. He also said that the teaching community of the institution may tender mass resignation if the CM stands to the side of the present director-in-charge. He also appealed the authority to conduct an inquiry into the allegation against the director-in-charge and if those allegations are found incorrect then they are ready to face any kind of punishment.
Professor Jitendra further said that a 10 member team of the Teachers’, Paramedics’ and Nurses’ body had meet the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister on April 22 at 5 pm. During the meeting the Chief Minister gave them verbal assurance to take up action against those who were found guilty found.
Professor Jitendra said that the Chief Minister should give a written assurance and the association does not mind in take 1 to 3 month while implementing the demands. He added that the agitation will continue until the demands are fulfilled.
Meanwhile, normal functioning of JNIMS continues to be paralyzed on the third day. OPD and Casualty were shuts and most patients who were undergoing treatment at the hospital has been shifted to RIMS and other private hospitals.
