The Kakching District Olympic Association (KDOA) today celebrated its third Foundation Day at Wabagai Awang Leikai Community Hall with a solemn ceremony that also honoured players who have represented the state and country at national and international sporting events.
As part of the celebration, KDOA felicitated a number of athletes for their outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of sports. Gifts were presented to the players in recognition of their efforts and success, marking the association’s appreciation for bringing laurels to both the state and the nation.
The event was graced by several dignitaries including Elangbam Surendrajit, Chairperson of Kakching Zilla Parishad, and Pangambam Santikumar, Additional District Magistrate of Kakching. Also present were Salam Dhanabir Luwang, Zilla Parishad Member of Keirak-Wabagai; Maibam Nabachandra, Chairperson of Wabagai Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee; Elangbam Ongbi Santi Leima, Chairperson of Keirak Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee; and Kshetrimayum Dharmadas, President of the Kakching District Olympic Association.
The programme aimed to not only celebrate the achievements of the athletes but also to inspire the younger generation to take up sports and aim for excellence at all levels.
