Imphal, June 17: Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP)- Poirei Meitei Lup has called all the ethnic communities in the state of Manipur to show solidarity and stand against the “divide and rule” policy colonial India.
In a release, Malemnganba Meetei, Publicity Secretary of the outfit said that since time immemorial various ethnic communities have been staying harmoniously the erstwhile sovereign Kangleipak (Manipur).
However, after the sovereign state- Kangleipak had been annexed to Indian union, the ethnic people of Manipur have been living in a situation a slavery.
Under the guise of democracy, the colonial Bharat has been continuously spewing poison of enmity among the various communities of Manipur.
After trying to appease with one of the underground group of neighbouring Nagaland, the colonial India is making another bid to break Manipur into pieces by entering to peace discussion with Kuki armed outfits.
Despite of all its effort to divide Manipur for years, the effort of India and its agents would remain futile. The blaring example is the incident of June 18, 2001, where people from all the ethnic communities of Manipur came out in protest against the Bangkok agreement signed between Indian government and NSCN (IM).
The June 18 incident, where 18 people sacrificed their lives in protest against the division of Manipur, has been written vividly in the history of Manipur as a sacrifice for the unity of the state and standing against the divide and rule policy of India.
With the advent of the June 18 celebration, the outfit has paid befitting floral tribute to the departed souls of June 18 during a function held at its Central Headquarter and various key posts and vowed to regain the lost sovereignty of Manipur, informed the release.
