Kakching Police observes Rashtriya Ekta Diwas with Blood Donation, Tree Plantation and Cleanliness Drive

A Voluntary Blood Donation Awareness Campaign-cum-Camp was held today at the Police Headquarters, Kakching, as part of the observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). The camp was jointly organised by the Indian Red Cross Society, Kakching District Branch; Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, Manipur, Thoubal District Branch; Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS; Manipur AIDS Control Society; and the State Blood Cell, NHM Manipur, under the supervision of the District Police Kakching.
Speaking at the occasion, Superintendent of Police, Kakching, Priyadarshini Laishram, stated that despite scientific progress, the blood that flows through our veins still cannot be produced or manufactured artificially. She highlighted that donating a single unit of blood can help save the life of a person in need. The SP also appreciated the police personnel and civilians who voluntarily donated blood during the camp.
The event was attended by officers-in-charge of various police stations in the district and other officers. A total of 80 units of blood were donated during the camp.
Also, a Tree plantation cum Cleanliness drive along with a Unity pledge Ceremony was organised at Kakching Bazar in connection with Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. The event was organised by Kakching Police Station under Ph. Priyobarta, Officer-in-Charge. The event was attended by OC Ph. Priyobarta along with officers and Personnel of Kakching Police Station and locals.
