Insisting the Government to fulfill various demands, Joint Action Committee against the Brutal Killing of Md. Firoj alias Amu called a 24 hour long bandh on Imphal-Moreh route with effect from 6 am of 18th January to 6 am of 19th January.
This was announced today by the members of the JAC and Muslim Council Manipur while coming to submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister of the state, O Ibobi. Some members of the JAC and General Secretary of Muslim Council Manipur, Haji Araphat Ali submitted the memorandum.
In the memorandum the JAC mentioned that Md. Firoj alias Amu was an innocent labor and was the father of four children. He was at his rented room at Telepati till 8 pm of 14 January. After that, he disappeared from his room and could not trace out. It also added that it is a matter of surprise how he reached Khangabok Market Complex.
Accusing the death of Md. Firoj alias Amu as well planned and politically involved the JAC demands a probe of the incident by an independent agency like CBI. Other demands of the JAC includes finding out culprit at the earliest and book him as per law, a suitable Government job to the deceased wife and ex-gratia of Rs. 10,00000 ( RupeesTen Lakh).
