One personnel of the Manipur state police force was killed and another two were seriously wounded in twin ambushed by unknown militants along the Imphal-Ukhrul road at two different places.According to report reaching here, the first ambush took place at around 9.30 am near cement factory in Hundung area, about 10 to 15 km from Ukhrul town and the second ambush was also strike around the same timing near Mahadev along the route.The report added that heavily armed militants fire several rounds of gun shot using automatic weapon when a combined team of state police commando, IRB and Assam Rifles were coming towards Imphal at around 9.30 am near Hundung cement factory. In the attacked a police commando personnel sustained serious injury and succumbed to his injury at Shangshak Army camp.The police team reportedly retaliated and gunfight between the two lasted for nearly half an hours. The armed militants suspected to be cadres of the NSCN-IM fled the area as the state force retaliated.The deceased police personnel has been identified as KS Thotyo (27), son of KS Salmon of Rha Village in Ukhrul district.The second ambush was made to a team of state police force who were going towards Ukhrul from Imphal side. Report said heavily armed militants suspected to be cadres of NSCN-IM fire several rounds of gunshots using automatic weapon to the state force convoy near Mahadev in along the Imphal Ukhrul road around the same timing. In the attack two personnel of the state police force were wounded.The two wounded state police personnel has been identified as Khumukcham Amuthoi (33) son of Kh Achouba of Kakching Khunou of Thoubal district and Kapmilian Mangson (29) son of Haokhulum of Tuibong in Churachandpur district.Both the injured were rushed to JNIMS hospital. Condition of Khumukcham Amuthoi is stated to be critical; he is presently undergoing treatment at Intensive Care Unit.Unconfirmed report added that the armed militant also stike the police commando team at Finch corner too which means that the ambushed was made at three different places. one personnel was reported injured which added the number of injured to three.

These twin ambush have been caused because of Manipur govt. allow NSCN-IM to set up their camps in Manipur’s hill districr.Even though govt.come to know their camps,the govt.could not take any actions against them.Manipur govt should not be mute spectators on them.
