House condemns recent Kwairamband Bazar blast in the strongest term

The august house of the Manipur Legislative Assembly today strongly condemn the recent Kwairamband bazaar bomb blast at which 3 innocent civilians were killed and over 23 wounded on March 11 evening. The barbaric terror act was once again put up to draw the attention of the house by ruling congress MLA N Biren during short duration discussion in today’s assembly session. While drawing the attention of the house MLA N Biren also urged the house to unanimously resolved a condemnation of the incident I the strongest term. The matter was supported by ruling MLA Ng. Bijoy and MLA RK Anand. Raising the issue MLA Biren said that the frequent attack and bomb blast in the state has created panic to the people of the state. He said mainstream media has reported over 30 blasts in 80 days and this kind of situation will sabotage the developmental works being taken up by the state government for promotion of tourism industry in the state.
Biren further said that as the government has failed to arrest the culprit behind such blast people now started suspecting the government for alleged negligence. He said that people now suspect such blast to have been deliberately plan by some vested interested persons to re-impose Armed Forces Special Powers Act in the seven Municipal constituencies of the state. Biren also drew the attention of the home minister regarding the failure of the CCTV camera that has been installed at various part of Imphal city. He also drew the attention of the house on whether the Home department is exempted from the purview of RTI.
Joining N. Biren, MLA RK Anand and MLA Ng Bijoy also echoed the matter raised by him. Both support him and urged the attention of the house for a resolution to condemn such incident in the strongest term.
Home Minister Gaikhangam while responding the MLAs also accepted the idea for a resolution to condemn such incident. He however, clarified that the state home department has not let such incident went off the hand and the police are investigating over the incident. He also added that many suspect has been arrested and investigation are on but as revealing the development would hamper the investigation process government cannot announced it.
Opposition MLA Th. Shyamkuar however said that there is no need for such resolution if the government did not take up some seen action for assuring the safety of the people.
